Educational Visits

Each year group participates in visits out of school which enhance learning. Eg, Filey, Conisborough Castle, Skelton Grange, Legoland Manchester, Danelaw Viking Village, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Temple Newsam, Sandsend, to name but a few.

Our Year 4 children go on a residential for 3 days to Robin Hood’s Bay to support their history, geography, science, art and English curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity for our 8 and 9 year olds to explore the world of 17th Century smuggling, rock pooling, the history of Whitby and Captain Cook, mapwork and fossil hunting. We stay at The Old School House in the old part of the village; we call it our 'classroom on the coast.'

Year 6 go on an activity residential for 3 days which supports work in outdoor and adventurous activity plus many personal and social skills such as resilience, challenge, teamwork and respect. The main purpose of this visit is to give children the opportunity to experience character and team building activities. These include abseiling, archery, climbing, indoor caving, crate challenge, raft building, trapeze, zip wire, canoeing, nightline and more (Refer to the website at for more details).

We hope you feel, as we do, that this opportunity will be a fun and positive experience that will not only benefit your child in Year Six, but for many years to come.
